Mike Morrill began his career in industrial research in 2006 working for a small startup energy company Renton, WA. He later pursued his education further and completed a doctorate in chemical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2013 conducting research in syngas conversion sponsored by Dow Chemical. Upon completing his degree Mike returned to industry taking on a position as a research engineer at Phillips 66 in Bartlesville, OK where he focused on catalytic processes and biofuels. He was recruited by Nippon Electric Glass in 2021 and moved to North Carolina to run the chemical sizing division of their US-based Research and Development organization. Currently Mike is responsible for developing new products through NEG’s stage gate process, conducting grassroots research on new chemicals, and providing NEG’s Manufacturing and Commercial divisions with technical support.
